Klewchuk Construction Ltd. has been in the decking business for nearly a quarter of a century in the Edmonton area. As we expanded over the years we found new products to enhance our business. One of those products is Tufdek. Tufdek has exceeded our expectation not only with quality and service but with their desire to be the best at what they do. Tufdek is a sheet vinyl product used to waterproof outdoor walking surfaces such as, decks, balconies, walkways, roof-decks and patios. top
Is Tufdek a liquid Coating?
Tufdek is not a coating; Tufdek is similar to PVC roofing or linoleum flooring and comes on a roll which is bonded to the surface you intend to waterproof with adhesive. top

Tufdek rolls sizes are 63.5" wide (5' 31/2") by any custom length up to 360'. top

Is Tufdek Tested?
When it comes to waterproof decking were talking about roofing, after all we are waterproofing a flat surface just like a roof. Tufdek products comply with the following:

Is there a Warranty?
All Tufdek products are covered by a written warranty. See Tufdek dealer for more information. top
How is Tufdek installed?
Tufdek is glued to a smooth dry substrate using Tufdek adhesive, if more than one panel is required the other panels are overlapped 1.5" and hot air or chemically welded to each other to ensure a continuous waterproof surface. Tufdek is then detailed at the inside and outside edges to complete the installation and make the surface waterproof. top
How long will Tufdek last?
The life expectancy of Tufdek is 20 + years, this is dependent on many factors such as, care and maintenance, sun exposure, foot traffic volumes, chemical or air borne contaminants and use and abuse. Does Tufdek need re-coating?
Tufdek is a factory finished product which requires no re-coating, just regular cleaning with soap and water will help maintain Tufdek. The product is virtually maintenance free. top
Will Tufdek survive in freezing temperatures?
Tufdek has been installed in such harsh winter environments as the North West Territories, the Yukon and Alaska with exceptional results. Tested at temperatures of minus 40, Tufdek will stand up to the harshest of cold environments. top
Will Tufdek withstand the heat?
Tufdek is tested at temperatures of 80 Celsius / 176 Fahrenheit for 60 days then run through a series of tests to verify no damage to the product was sustained. Tufdek vinyl membranes will withstand temperatures over 300 degrees before breaking down.

How do I remove snow and ice from Tufdek? You can use a plastic shovel or in extreme snow and ice areas you can use salt or deicer. Always ensure your shovel has no sharp edges before using it on your Tufdek vinyl. top
Can I install Tufdek myself?
Tufdek is only available through specialized, trained and certified Tufdek dealers who demonstrate a strong understanding of waterproofing techniques and building envelope design. In an effort to maintain a high level of installation quality we do not sell Tufdek for DIY installations in markets where we have certified dealers.
